Back in the blogging world

So its been a while since I have posted anything......I totally betrayed the good ole blog during the prime of the cycling season......Well what was supposed to be the prime. Which brings me to why I quit blogging. It was a very hard year mentally for me and physically as well. For a while now I have had what I thought to be a leg length difference. So as a result I would use one leg more then the other which is very inefficient. The leg lengh difference was also causing nerves in my leg to go numb. It was a very discouraging thing to deal with....So during the Tour of Red River Gorge I couldn't take it anymore. I was done physically and emotionally. So I went home. I didn't go to Abitibi or Nationals. When I got home i went to get x-rays so i could identify exactly what was my problem.....So it turns out my legs are the same lengh....Unfortunately though I have mild scoliosis. In the picture isnt my x-ray, but something similar to what I have. Although having this condition sucks, and is a complete pain in the ass, it has giving me hope that when I get it worked out, I'll be back to being what I was before, one of the best racers in the country. So i'm doing treatment and all for that. And thats that.

So since then I have really took a step back from cycling. Thats not to say I'm training less, or a worse rider. In reality i'm training more and probably more fit then I've been in a while. I've just took all the pressure away from myself. Before I was so caught up in "making it pro" that I forgot to have fun. Now my attitude is strictly enjoying racing and training. After all that is what its all about. I'm enjoying the bike more then ever now. Some might say my season this year was a failure. Maybe on paper it was. But the way I see it is that this year taught me to really have fun and enjoy what I do. Maybe that is more important then winning any race. Besides it has been one hell of a year!
First off- I tried track for the first time and won the state championship. A priceless feat that meant more to me then any podium I got at nationals.
2nd- I had an awesome senior year in high school! Awesome spring break, prom, graduation, and all that. A year off my life ill never forget.
3rd- I have discovered triathlons! Don't laugh....they really are fun. They also combine my 2 great loves of running and riding so its a winner. I'm currently training for Ironman FL.

So all in all it really hasnt been a bad year. I'll for sure keep the blog updated.
thats all for now,
